Mother – Daughter
Spend special time together learning to sew. Both Mom and daughter will learn to sew , or this class could be a review for Mom and a fun time for both of you. Age accepted: 10 and up.
The first class is machine-intensive; you will become comfortable with your sewing machine. If you do not have a machine, I will provide one for each of you. This involves learning the different parts of the machine, how to thread the machine and the bobbin, how to care for your machine, and how to handle fabric while sewing. There will be a project during this time that is suitable for gifts.
The next two classes will each include a simple project, and are meant to build on your skills and give you confidence.
We will also cover sewing supplies (notions) fabric selection, how to read and measure for a pattern, hand sewing, and other information as time allows.
Classes are $40 for each session ($120 total), which is three hours, and covers both mother and daughter. A deposit of $40 is required to hold your place. The second and third classes are pay-as-you-go. There will be an additional charge to cover supplies for the second and third class.
These classes are held in my home in North Raleigh.
Classes to resume in late spring 2012
