Quilting 101

Now you’re close to my heart.  I have more plans for quilts than I have years left in my life.  I hope when you see the work of your hands and know that someday your grandchildren will cherish what you have made, you will have been bitten by the bug that bit me.

NOTE:  This class schedule is dependent on 2-4 students who express an interest in learning to quilt.

During this class you will learn to sew accurate 1/4 inch seams, basic fabric strip cutting with a rotary cutter, all about pressing vs. ironing; basting, binding and finishing  your quilt.

The first class will be practicing the above and learning about the tools you will need and how to use them.  Before the second class, you will select your fabric and prepare for assembling your blocks for your quilt.

You will be expected to purchase the necessary tools for quilting before the second class.  The first class will explain what you will need and recommendations will be given to help you select your supplies.

This is not a beginner sewing class.  You do need to be comfortable with your sewing machine. Contact me for more information.  (919) 848-1898, or email:

Classes are held in my home in North Raleigh.  The cost is  $35 for each 3-hour lesson (total $105).  Deposit of $35 required to reserve your place.
